The
Millions More Movement-Charlotte
commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Million
Man March,
October
15, 2005. The Million Man March was the unprecedented, peaceful assembly of
nearly 2 million African American men in the nation’s capitol and the
cornerstone for a succession of grassroots efforts including the Million
Woman, Million Family, Million Moms, Million Youth, Million Workers and
Million Reparations Marches.
Ten years
after the Million Man March, the Millions More Movement –Charlotte was
created to serve as a working demonstration of millions and more people
united to create a nation determined to work toward parity and
self-sufficiency.
“It is more than a march, it is a movement!”
As a
commemoration to the 10th anniversary of the Million Man March,
our mission is to bring together diverse segments of national and
international communities to utilize the best minds available to create a
viable framework for resolving critical concerns affecting the well being of
millions of men, women and children in the Carolinas. Additionally, to serve
as a prototype for strengthening local, national and international
organizations whose mission is to serve others.
